Twenty-Four

I am a wife. I am a mother. I am a teacher.

I subscribe to the local newspaper—for coupons.

I write the check for rent, gas, electric, and internet.

You would think I have felt like an adult for some time now.

But something about turning twenty-four feels very. . . adult. I am now solidly in my mid-twenties. I expect that the great mass of knowledge and wisdom that adults are supposed to hold will hit me any minute.

While I wait, I will go out with Joey to a surprise dinner and celebrate my birthday with cupcakes from The Sweet Tooth Fairy.

Yay! Happy birthday, Katie! The other day I was talking to my mom and, while it was related to the conversation, she felt the need to point out, "Brie, well you know you are nearing 30." Eek! I hope you love your "nearing 25" years. :)

lol ... this makes me laugh! I feel the same way at 26! Aren't we supposed to know what we're doing at this point? Happy Birthday and I'm jealous of your cupcakes!
